REUTERS: Abbas, who met Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and other officials in crisis talks in Egypt on restoring order at the frontier, has already won U.S., European and Arab backing to take control of the Rafah crossing, to the exclusion of Hamas. [who cares what Abbas ‘won’ from the terror inc.?

Gazans pour into Egypt after citizens destroy border wall

Times Online: Tens of thousands of Gazans on foot, in cars and even on donkey carts poured into Egypt this morning after Palestinian militants blew up most of the border wall between the two territories.
Around two-thirds of 12-km wall was destroyed in a dramatic pre-dawn protest against the closure of the coastal strip imposed last week by Israel and backed by Egypt.
The destruction of the border continued into the morning. Palestinians driving a Caterpillar bulldozer arrived at a point where the frontier is marked by a low concrete wall topped with barbed wire, tearing down the wall and opening a gap to allow easier access for cars

Israel ratchets up terrorist attacks on Palestinians in Gaza

Israel said Monday it will ease a blockade of Gaza imposed in retaliation for militant rocket attacks, allowing some food and fuel in for one day. The announcement followed a U.N. warning that international food aid to the impoverished territory may have to be suspended by the weekend.
