On May 27, Mr. Ricky Singh made a vitriolic attack on me in the Stabroek newspaper, in response to my letter criticizing the Editor-in-Chief/Publisher, Mr. David de Caires, and his newspaper, for pursuing an anti-black agenda. The baleful machinations behind the publication of my letter notwithstanding, I stand by my contentions and cede no ground to those who would pervert human nature in their exercise of prejudice.

Singh, an apologist for the PPP etchnocracy, penned a letter characterized by its pageantry of hate and hypocrisy, which conversely epitomizes his own circumstance. He claimed that I am racist for denouncing Stabroek’s anti-black posture; that I have an “enormous personal ego;” that I spew “rabid racism;” that I offered no evidence to support my criticism, and that he has personal knowledge that Mr. De Caires made no deal with the PPP government in exchange for the restoration of government ads to his newspaper - all a maze of hyperbolic hot-air. David DeCaires gave an interview with The Voice - Britain’s Best Black Newspaper carried by the Jamaica Gleaner. make sure you check this out. as you know we have our issues with Stabroek. but that’s neither here nor there we suppose in this instant

I have learned that free speech is the devil. What I mean by that is it is not a nice thing. I used to, perhaps naively, think that if you let everyone have their say, somehow or other some kind of consensus view would emerge or an approximation of the truth. I don’t believe that any longer.
I believe that is a very difficult topic and it is naive to feel it is as simple as that. A lot of views are underinformed or biased and you end up more readily with a tower of Babel than with the emergence of truth.

in a stunning turn of events even Karen Persaud was not quite prepared for Stabroek News is once again rolling in the mud with it’s first govt sponsored advertising in about year and a half. the call came down from high up in heaven and eventually the news made its way down to GINA Media Coordinator Karen Persaud who had to call Stabroek News’ Advertising Manager Patricia Cumbermack yesterday morning with the good news that she will once again begin using taxpayers money to buy govt ads in Stabroek News.
