Guyana Prison Officers who murdered Edwin Niles to be charged
Kaieteur News: After an almost three-month investigation, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has recommended that two senior prison officers be charged with manslaughter for the death of prison inmate Edwin Niles.
The two officers, who both hold the rank of Assistant Superintendent, are likely to appear in court today.
In a report to the DPP, police investigators had recommended that four prison officers, including two senior ranks, be charged with murder in connection with Niles’ death.
