Guyana Police insinuate they were not target of road block killing - fail to pursue gunmen
The police have not said whether Singh was the intended target but went on record as saying that no police rank was the target since according to them, the man who exited the vehicle had a clear shot of a uniformed rank who was standing mere inches away from Singh but did not take it.

Corbin, also the PNCR Leader, said it was clear that security is compromised and has been infiltrated by drug lords. “There is no integrity here and if information is shared with them it can get back to the drug lords and that could compromise everything,” Corbin insisted. He said too he felt it was pathetic that the local authorities would have to rely on the US’s information to deal with a purely internal matter.

Detectives have detained the reputed wife of murdered businessman Ganga Persaud following the discovery of his body in the trunk of his car on Saturday.
Mahaica woman critical after being raped and stabbed
The woman’s husband told this Newspaper that, on returning home from work at around 10:30 hours, he found his wife sprawled on the floor with their two-year-old child crying next to her.
This newspaper has been reliably informed that the woman sustained several stab wounds about her body, including to her head, back, hands, abdomen and genital area.
