Livinguyana reporting: News just in. Mitta Sharma Gone for channa. President Bugdeo has revoked his TV license until August. Sharma is now off the air and will have to send some 35 staff home since the station will be in operational.
While most of the employees are women, Sharma has indicated that he will try his best to supplement them while the station is out.

   The C.N. Sharma is a digrace to Freedom of Press, I personnal think that he is a disgrace to Press in general.He should be taken off the permanentily.

   Yeah right. In a country where the Party in power control a rag not fit even to for use in a toilet, you talk about the disgrace of Sharma. The biggest disgrace to Guyana is the fact that it is an ethnic fiefdom with a bunch of greedy and corrupt ministerial leaders. What is disgrace is that people who were screaming about the PNC Government crackdown on their racist mirror newspaper, now with putrid breaths talk about shutting down Sharma.

   You guys need to be given an island in the Caribbean where you can practice your appan jaat politics to your hearts content, and allow the rest of us in these parts to live normal lives.

   Fagdeo is a disgrace to Guyana. Sharma, lack of formal education nothwithstanding, is infinetly more patriotic, more compassionate, more tolerant than the sexually confused bigot that runs our country. But this is about what one can expect a supremacist political organization to produce. Jesus Christ have pity on Guyanese.

   The OP release said Jagdeo is the sole authority vested with power to decide whether a licensee has breached the terms and conditions of their licence and/or the provisions of the Act or the regulations and whether any sanctions may be imposed, adding that the Act provides that the Minister may suspend or cancel the Licence for such breaches.

   Jagdeo is the commanding general in the “awee pon tap” campaign to produce a dalit class of people in Guyana. Many of the Indians, especially those in the diaspora, who defend that campaign do so because they relish the psychological rush to be prejected into an elite class. And therein is the obstacle to changes in Guyana. Because how can there be changes when domination feeds the egos of those influential with the powers that be?

   Let me say that I totally reject offensive violence against any group as a means of solving our problems. I reject the notion that it is ok for the innocent to pay for the guilty in situations of this nature. There are too many legal and none violent tools available to an imaginative opposition to challenge the hegemony of ethnic rule without resorting to violence.

   I hate evil, not the people who are caught up in its vortex.
