Stabroek News protecting Michael Francis Brassington CIA, cocaine & heroine history

comrades the folks at Stabroek News are beginning to reveal themselves to be despicable in more ways than one. stay tuned here and we will highlight a number of issues but consider the following:

1. reporters at Stabroek News who are in touch with propaganda press first heard of Michael Brassington from this site after we ran our story on him
2. this of course was after Roger Luncheon [right hand man to the dictator of guyana bharrat jagdeo] pulled a fast one on all the clown editors when he said the govt consulted Michael Brassington not knowing who Brassington really is, they ran with the story as is as they did not know! and did not bother to check
3. we’ve been following Brassington crimes for years and ran an article on some news we got on him on Jan 31 2008 to update Guyanese as we’ve never seen him mentioned in local news
4. we know that Stabroek News was notified by email about Brassington two days ago by a letter they have not published because we also have a copy of that letter as well sent with a note saying ‘Stabroek News has also received a copy of this letter today’ that is two days before this puff piece on Brassington today
5. and now we have Stabroek coming with their scoop that Luncheon is lying today! It wasn’t me! says Brassington
6. but again nowhere in the article does the weasel editors at Stabroek get down to who Brassington is and they have the information! so why are they protecting this guy? and why are they not informing the Guyanese people? but at the same time they’re playing silly games like they’re hot on the investigative trail of churnalism and hitting Jagdeo and Luncheon hard
7. this is the same Stabroek of course that said, Neither disdain nor ignorance was to blame for the omission of Guyana blogs. The editorial sought to do no more than consider the complementary/adversarial relationship that has evolved between blogs and the mainstream media all over the world. Since, to the best of our knowledge, no West Indian blogger has yet scooped a national newspaper or television station, or caused the resignation of a major public figure (as foreign bloggers have managed to do on several occasions) it made no sense to mention individual local blogs in this context.
8. well way before Stabroek got hot on the chase we also told you here about the missing AK-47s among other things. so let them orbit in their own little elite stratosphere of churnalism
9. can you really believe them when they’ve repeatedly gain scoops from the same bloggers they claim not to make sense mentioning in their rag? just for the clown editors at Stabroek: “The FAA this month issued a laundry list of safety violations by the operator of the aircraft, Florida-based Platinum Jet Management. In a July 8 letter to Platinum, the FAA proposed a $1.86 million fine, which in the industry is considered unusually large.”

10. earth to Stabroek. earth to Stabroek. the Guyana Fucking Chronicle! yes the daily fishwrap mentioned Brassington in Clousseau column a week after we carried our story which was old to us, but fresh and new to most Guyanese. don’t tell anyone you read that here
