Guyana govt resumes advertising with Stabroek News!!
in a stunning turn of events even Karen Persaud was not quite prepared for Stabroek News is once again rolling in the mud with it’s first govt sponsored advertising in about year and a half. the call came down from high up in heaven and eventually the news made its way down to GINA Media Coordinator Karen Persaud who had to call Stabroek News’ Advertising Manager Patricia Cumbermack yesterday morning with the good news that she will once again begin using taxpayers money to buy govt ads in Stabroek News. There was an awkward moment of silence but the ladies exchanged pleasantries, jokes and made plans to start hanging out again. Stabroek News taped the conversation just to be on the safe side of the law. over drinks last night at Tennessee Editor-in-Chief David de Caires admitted that he got a call from ’someone’ since Friday letting him know that he was back in business again. all he did was smile when asked repeatedly if he is going to start drinking PPP soup and stop reporting on the crimes, incompetence and cocaine hustlings of PPP Crime Syndicate Inc.
Unbelievable!…and you had better not be fooling us with this news!
Good sense should prevail and the government should in all fairness advertise in the SN. The explanation that the choice of media to use was a finacial one, was so shallow that even GWB would have found it amusing and rediculous.
Now we have to see what they are going to do to Sharma TV for that seems to be on the next ‘hit list’.
Our beloved country is still going through the birth pains.
