Beware of fake ‘universities’ in Guyana
Dear Editor,
There is a “university” located on Sheriff Street that is misleading the public about its credibility.
To begin with, they are proclaiming to be accredited by a university in California and accredited by the Ministry of Education in Guyana.
These are false statements and totally misleading to the Guyanese public. People need to be aware of these “fly by night” so call “universities”. To add insult to injury, they are evading taxes, which is unlawful. Mr. Sattaur, you need to pay them a special visit. They are deducting taxes from their underpaid employees without remitting the taxes to the Guyana Revenue Authority.
However it doesn’t end there, it gets even better. Staff will never experience the goodness of the National Insurance Scheme, since their employer does not adhere to the Act.
All of the above unlawful acts are done in the name of “Peace”. I wonder what’s next?
