PRESS RELEASE
The police are investigating the shooting of Mary King, 34 years of Republic Street, Newtown, which occurred about 17:40h. today Monday March 10, 2008, at D’Andrade Street, Newtown.
Investigations revealed that Mary King was on D’Andrade Street when a white car drove up alongside. A man exited the vehicle and discharged several rounds from a firearm at Mary King, hitting her about the body. She was taken to the GPHC where she was pronounced DOA.
Mary King is the sister of Rondel Rawlins called ‘Fineman’ and was not wanted by the police.
The police will not tolerate the killing of innocent persons and all efforts will be made to arrest and prosecute the perpetrator of this act.
