The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of carpenter Jairam Balgobin of Pigeon Island Squatting Area, ECD.
Jairam Balgobin’s body was found with marks of violence to his neck and face about 2030h. last night at a house at Success Squatting Area, ECD.
Five persons have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.

At about 0930h. today workers cleaning the premises of a home at Stanleytown, WBD, found a 12 gauge shotgun and seven matching cartridges in a set of bushes.
The firearm and ammunition were handed over to the police who are conducting investigations.

A 44-year-old Success, East Coast Demerara (ECD) man was on Tuesday evening chopped to death, reportedly by a drunken acquaintance and police have detained several persons as investigations continue.
Dead is Jairam Balgobin called ‘Baker’ of Success Squatting Area, ECD. He suffered several chop wounds about his body and reports say that his throat was also slit.
