PRESS RELEASE

The Guyana Police Force today presented His Excellency the President Bharrat Jagdeo with gifts in recognition of his birthday.

Assistant Commissioner Cecil Bovell, DSM, and officers from the Office of the Commissioner of Police made the presentations on behalf of the Commissioner, Officers and other ranks of the Force to the President at State House, Main Street .

Members of the Police Band were on hand and gave musical renditions suitable for the occasion.

Attached is a photograph depicting Assistant Commissioner Cecil Bovell, DSM, presenting one of the gifts, an art work, to His Excellency the President.

About 16:00h. yesterday Tuesday January 22, 2008, Waple Morgan of Friendship, Buxton, East Coast Demerara, reported to the Police at Brickdam Police Station that her daughter Tenisha Morgan, 18 years of the same address, was missing since Friday January 18, 2008.

She further reported that she had last spoken to her daughter, who is pregnant, on January 18, 2008, when she advised her to travel to Georgetown to stay with an aunt, as it was near time for her delivery.

The police are conducting investigations into this missing person report.

Meanwhile, the police at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters today received a telephone call purportedly from Rondel Rawlins called ‘Fine man’, and who is wanted by the police for murder and robbery under arms, threatening the ranks “if his child-mother is not found”.

The Guyana Police Force has upped it security arrangements to ensure that there is continued stability in the country.
