Vincent Teekah - the murder we know nothing of
Guyana.org: One of the biggest cover-ups occurred when Vincent Teekah, the Minister of Education, was killed on the night of 24 October 1979. He died of a bullet wound and it was apparent that the shot was fired at very close range. Teekah was in the company of an American dentist, Dr. Oswaldene Walker, who lived in Maryland, USA and worked at Howard University in Washington DC.
Jacob Zuma threatening Thabo Mbeki?
ANC leader Jacob Zuma has threatened “very serious action” if members of President Thabo Mbeki’s government undermine the ANC, or ANC leaders show disrespect for the government.
“I have said in the past to the [ANC's national executive committee] that people must not gossip, and plan and mislead, and think that this gossip does not come to the [notice of the] movement.
“We will act to bring about control in the ANC. We must not be surprised if we take harsher actions against those whose activities undermine the ANC. If this continues, you will have to remove me as president of the ANC.”
Panama remembers Martyr’s Day
Rob-Rivera.com:Led by 17-year-old Guillermo Guevara Paz, 150 to 200 students from the institute marched to Balboa High School, carrying their school’s Panamanian flag and a sign proclaiming their country’s sovereignty over the Canal Zone. They had first informed their school principal and the Canal Zone authorities of their plans before setting out on their march. Their intention was to raise the Panamanian flag on the Balboa High School flagpole where the Americans had raised theirs.
Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta offers cease fire
LAGOS, Nigeria - The main [freedom fighter] group in Nigeria’s oil region offered Sunday to halt attacks if one of its leaders is released from prison in Angola, where he is being held on arms smuggling charges.
The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta said it would immediately halt hostilities in response to the release of Henry Okah, whom the Nigerian government wants to put on trial.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini on Sunday voiced Iran`s readiness to respond to the remaining ambiguities on the country`s peaceful nuclear activities by March 2008.
Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing he added, `Tehran is ready to respond to the the remaining ambiguities regarding Iran`s peaceful nuclear program to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) by March 2008.

White farmers struggling in Mozambique without state assistance

Stabroek News: President of the [Guyana Bar Association], Kashir Khan is also questioning the statement issued by Minister of Local Govern-ment and Regional Develop-ment, Lall on his involvement in a fracas with a teenager and the firing off his weapon while allegedly attempting a citizen’s arrest. After six weeks of silence Lall said in a statement that he was assaulted and had fired one shot from his weapon.
