Snow whitens central Iranian desert in Shahdad, mid-southern province of Kerman

Governor of District of Shahdad in mid-southern province of Kerman said snow today for the first time whitened the central desert of Loot.
Mohammad Momeni told IRNA on Monday snow covered two villages of Karimabad and Hashemabad which are usually covered by dunes.The elderly of the villages have said they had never seen or heard about snow in those areas.The two villages are located 30 kilometers east of Shahdad in Loot Desert.
Shahdad district Meteorologist Maryam Pour-Hashemi said residents of the area experienced their coldest day on Monday.
