GAP enslaving the children of India
Activists in India say that children reportedly found making clothes for the US clothing retailer Gap should be compensated by the Indian government. Bhuwan Ribhu from the Save Childhood Movement said the government had failed to develop a way to monitor factories. The British newspaper the Observer reported on Sunday that children as young as 10 were sewing clothes for Gap in a New Delhi factory. Children’s rights activists estimate that India has about 13 million child workers.
