head of UN mission Jan Pronk leaves Sudan for the last time
The head of the UN mission in Sudan, Jan Pronk, has left the country after being expelled by the so.called Islamic government of Sudan.
Mr Pronk, who already had shaky ties with Khartoum, wrote in his blog that Sudan’s army of war criminals had suffered defeats in Darfur and its morale was low.
Alesie to honour $80M owed to Guyana rice farmers
The Guyana Chronicle was reliably informed that the Financial Director of Alesie Group of Companies, Richard Thomas, met with representatives of the Guyana Rice Development Board (GRDB), the Guyana Rice Producers Association (RPA) and some of the affected farmers, when assurances were given by the company executive that outstanding debts to the farmers will be honoured.

HAROUN Abdullah Kabir stepped from one bloodied corpse to another on the parched battlefield. He searched the soldiers’ decomposing faces for an aquiline nose, fair complexion or fine, straight hair: telltale Arab features.
Instead Kabir, a field commander of the Darfur rebels fighting the Arab-dominated Sudanese Government, found among the fallen only the dark-skinned faces of southern Sudanese and Darfurians. He looked away in disgust. Read the rest of this entry »

Jan Pronk kicked out of Sudan for exposing the crimes of so.called Muslims
Khartoum has ordered Jan Pronk, Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the UN in Sudan, to leave the country by Wednesday because of comments Pronk made on his blog. Some may dismiss this as hardly surprising because diplomacy and openness don’t exactly mix.
