now the devil is in style!
“Now ‘the devil‘ is in style because it occurred to me to talk about the devil in the United States, and that has caused — I don‘t know — an uproar in the world, which wasn‘t my intention,” Chavez said during a campaign rally in western Venezuela.
I don’t think it caused an uproar in the world–some satisfactions and some guffaws maybe. It did cause something of an uproar in the US because, see, we are the ones handing out “Evil” labels and we don’t like it when the poor, black, or brown ones get uppity and think they can talk to us like that too.
It was sad to see Congressman Rangel thump his chest and wail about being indignant that, as he said “my president was insulted.” I find it hard to believe that any of his constituents in the Bronx ever talks about “the man” as “my president” and that any of them got mad that “the devil” was dissed.
Rangel wants to be white. As white as “Condy” and just as clean….
