Moses Nagamootoo the prophet & Jagdeo wading in the waters
Next, we have the man from the Bible. In case you didn’t know, Moses Nagamootoo is a practising Christian (do people learn anything from religion?) Last Sunday, at Good Hope, man, it was fun galore! Moses (not the Biblical one; the Guyanese one), got up on the podium and heaped large praises, so large, on Bharrat Jagdeo. There was something particularly eye-raising about Moses’s demagoguery at Good Hope, where the Atlantic Ocean met the inviting weather of the tropical East Coast that lovely evening. He told his audience (bussed from all parts of Guyana, including the Corentyne; Forbes must be smiling in the Botanic Gardens) that Jagdeo waded into the water knee-high during the Great Floods of 2005 to save Guyana.
