what’s happening with the Guyana Defence Force missing weapons?
Ever since the weapons have gone missing from the Army, are a lot of questions have been asked concerning security at the Defence Headquarters. As a result, it is currently being reexamined. According to a source, it is being contemplated to place CCTV around the base at key points. Although there is an inherent problem with security therein, there is also a personnel breakdown. Persons are not loyal to the Army. The amount of weapons that were lost was confirmed days after the initial disappearance, yet one Local Newspaper had this figure long before GDF confirmation and eventual release to the public.
This shameful event took place under the nose of those who are chartered to serve and protect the Dear Land of Guyana. As unimaginable as it may sound, it was reported that these weapons were bled out of the bond through ventilation mesh cut close to the top of the building, the size of the hole big enough for an adult to pass through.
There has been a hotline set up in an attempt to solicit information from the public that would lead to the recovery of the weapons. As it turns out ‘Operation Recovery’ seems to be a devotion of time to a useless activity. A lof of money has already been pumped into the operation and all the leads that are turning up have no substance at their end. A number of buildings have been searched and persons detained and questioned over the past 2 weeks and this continues to take place as I am composing this and you are reading it.
Donald Ramotar yesterday said the party was “extremely worried” and “very concerned” about the disappearance of the weapons. I wonder how long he can hold out with this worry? It was released today that there is another man being sought in connection with the disappearance of the weapons. Mr. James Gibson was held a few years ago in Berbice in another incident involving assault rifles. Oliver Hinckson, a Sandhurst trained, former officer is already on the wanted list. This paragraph introduces a whole different realm to the scenario that I prefer not to bury myself in.
In the final analysis, what happened at Base Camp Ayanganna raises a lot of questions that need to be answered. However, the biggest question is, “who has the weapons?” It is purported that the weapons were used in the bloodbath in Eccles and the siege in Agricola that both took place in the space of 2 hours. It is also claimed that they are in the hands of the, Nationally Acclaimed, Phantom gang but all these are speculations.
As far as I am concerned, the bone of contention is not who has these weapons but what happens when the GDF apprehends them. The fire power available to both parties would be the same so I guess its tactics that would win the battle. God Help Us.
Lets hope that good sense prevails in the Dear Land of Guyana and some remedy is brought to this situation sooner rather than later.
who are the MOVE 9? american political prisoners
The MOVE 9 are innocent men and women who have been in prison since August 8, 1978, following a massive police attack on us at our home in Powelton Village (Philadelphia). This was seven years before the government dropped a bomb on MOVE, killing 11 people, including 5 babies. The August 8, 1978 police attack on MOVE followed years of police brutality against MOVE and was a major military operation carried out by the Philadelphia police department under orders of then-mayor, Frank Rizzo, whose reputation for racism and brutality is well known; it followed him up thru the ranks of the police department to the police commissioner’s office to the mayor’s office.
